Inspired by the costumes worn by Lorelei Lee and Dorothy Shaw, played by the incomparable Marilyn Monroe and Jane Russell in the 1953 film.

The gold top is inspired by Monroe's notoriously risque gold dress in her 'Piggy' dance scene.

The burlesque style bottom comes from the fishnet stockings and laced up corsets worn in the Paris shows.

The final touch is a full red rose; gold roses were used in the publicity costumes and the red is in honour of the opening number.

'Merrily We Roll Along...'

You may have noticed we love a bit of Sondheim, but we also love champagne! And you can roll along merrily as well, with this delicious - entirely edible - champagne bottle and bucket cake.

The bucket is made with a cake of your choice, with edible sugar ice cubes that can be flavoured as requested.

The bottles are made from milk chocolate, with edible labels which can be customised to your preferred bubble brand of choice,

To finish, we gave a nod to the famous Bob Bob Ricard 'press for champagne' button. Because as Sondheim said, nothing's better than more...

Or rather, The Devil Wears Whoopie...

Inspired by the handbag carried by Meryl Streep's scene stealing character Miranda, with a Whoopie twist!

The cake shown is a vanilla cake filled with Vanilla Bean Buttercream and Strawberry and Champagne Conserve.

All the cake and decorations are edible, and the tag can be customised with a message.

We've used our Baking Whoopie colours to create this cake, but feel free to choose your own!

"It is a truth universally acknowledged..."

That at Baking Whoopie we love a cake that tells a story and this cake is based on one of the best.

The book and tea chest are both made of cake and are joined by a flower paste tea cup and saucer, sugar flowers, an edible letter(!) and finished with a royal icing fan.

Fans of the story will know the ladies of Pride and Prejudice read a lot of books, drank a lot of tea and wrote a lot of letters - now you can join them in cake form!
